Wanderlust

30th Anniversary Concert at The Street Theatre

4pm, 13th February 2022

Miroslav Bukovsky’s band, Wanderlust, was formed in Sydney in 1992, and was one of the sensations of Australian music during that era, with major exposure in jazz festivals in Australia, Europe and Asia.

With a stellar line-up of Bukovsky (trumpet, flugelhorn, arranger, composer), James Greening (trombone), Alistair Spence (piano, keyboards), Fabian Hevia (drums, percussion), Jeremy Sawkins (guitar), and Brandon Clarke (bass) – who have played together for three decades — the group was joined by saxophone sensation John Mackey a decade ago.

Wanderlust’s last performance in Canberra was four years ago, at Eric Ajaye’s Jazzhaus in Mawson, to a rapturous capacity audience.

Miroslav Bukovsky is, of course, well known to our friends of the ANU Drill Hall Gallery — he has brought a variety of small and medium-sized groups to the Gallery. Their outstanding musicianship and beautiful interplay, taking place amidst some of the best of our art exhibitions, has resulted in many magical occasions.
