August Friends Night | University House Tour
Last Friday the Friends of the Drill Hall Gallery were treated to an art tour of the newly refurbished University House. After 6 years of hail remediation, restoration and refurbishment, the historic University House reopened in August, aligning with ANU’s 80th anniversary celebrations.
Friends gathered in the foyer for celebratory refreshments, before a special tour of the heritage listed building, guided by University House staff and custodians of the ANU Art Collection. Friends were also joined by ANU School of Art & Design alumnus and staff from Megalo Print Studio to view newly commissioned works in the hotel rooms. Following the tour, Friends dined together at Fellows restaurant.
Many thanks to University House and Fellows restaurant for hosting the Friends for a delightful evening. Below are some photos from the event.
The Drill Hall Gallery acknowledges the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, the traditional custodians of the Canberra region, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.
