Pintupi Way review by Alec O’Halloran

Review and response by Alec O’Halloran

“This stunning display of exceptional paintings by the Pintupi people of the Western Desert is the exhibition of the year for me. I had the pleasure of attending the opening on October 26 at Canberra’s Drill Hall Gallery and presented a talk on Mick Namarari’s art the following day. I spent many hours in the gallery chatting to visitors or just looking, trying to take it all in. One of the visitors I spoke with offered this reply when I asked what she made of the show: It took my breath away.”

The Drill Hall Gallery acknowledges the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, the traditional custodians of the Canberra region, and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.
