Deborah Hart launches Roy Jackson monograph at DHG Friends’ night

Deborah Hart, senior curator at the National Gallery of Australia, gave a very moving speech at our last Friends’ night when she launched the new monograph about Roy Jackson. She summoned his subtle and contentious character and the concerns he channeled into his paintings.  Thank you to all who joined us to celebrate the event. This is the first book published under the imprimatur of Drill Hall Gallery Publishing.

Do all good things come in threes? Roy Jackson currently has three exhibitions of his work in Sydney! One is at the S.H. Ervin Gallery on Observatory Hill; another is at Defiance Gallery in Newtown; the third is at the Yellow House in Potts Point.

Not to be undone, Ann Thomson has also scored a trifecta: her exhibition currently at the Drill Hall Gallery, another at Olsen Irwin Gallery in Sydney, and a third at Bruce Heiser in Brisbane.

Roy Jackson Monograph is on sale at the front desk of the Drill Hall gallery or can be ordered on line.
