On Friday 21 April, 12-1pm, join artist Steven Harvey in conversation with exhibition curators Terence Maloon and Tony Oates, in discussion of our current exhibition, Synergy: Tony Tuckson – drawing into painting.
After his demise at the age of 52 in 1973, Tony Tuckson’s stature has grown exponentially. His prolific output over a mere 25 years has been gradually revealed and continuously re-estimated. The works on paper in this exhibition are drawn from a residue in the Tuckson estate which has proved to be full of surprises. It shows Tuckson as an inexhaustible source of creative improvisation. A wealth of never exhibited works can be seen here for the first time, augmented by a selection of his finest paintings.
