This July we have great cause for celebration!

You are invited to join us for a party in celebration of Terence Maloon’s decade long contribution to the ANU Drill Hall Gallery. While he is retiring from full-time work, he will continue to be part of our lively community and contribute to our events, tours and excursions. For Terence, this has always been much more than a job.

Upon his arrival to the Drill Hall Gallery in 2010, Terence founded the Friends of the Drill Hall Gallery group we have come to love. His vision was to connect a community of art-lovers to the Drill Hall Gallery and to involve members in a dynamic program, which expanded knowledge and appreciation of contemporary art in Australia. He sought to welcome creative spirits to the gallery, break down the intimidation of the white cube, and get to the point of what art is truly all about – connection!

Over the years, Terence has made many cherished friendships with our members. He would love to have the opportunity to thank you for your loyalty, support and rapport toward him personally, and your incredible support of the Drill Hall Gallery.

We thought what better way to celebrate than with food, drinks and music in the gallery! Miroslav Bukovsky and friends will play a live Jazz set for us. Please come along to drink, eat and be merry!

In commemoration of his retirement, we would like to acquire a superb sculpture by local artist Leo Loomans titled “Out-back”. With your support this work will be purchased for the ANU Art Collection. You can demonstrate your appreciation by making a tax-deductible gift in honour of Terence, please click here.

You may also donate in person at the Drill Hall Gallery by cheque, cash or bank transfer.
