2025 DHG Friends Emerging Artists Support Scheme awarded to Holly George and Florence Steel

Many thanks to our generous Friends that donated to the DHG Friends Emerging Artists Support Scheme fundraiser, backing emerging artists as they take their first steps towards a career in the visual arts and developing the ANU Art Collection’s representation of local culture.

With the contributions we were delighted to acquire three works from the 2025 School of Art & Design’s graduating exhibition – two paintings by Florence Steel (Bachelor of Art History & Curatorship, and Bachelor of Visual Arts), and an audio-video work by Holly George (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Visual Arts).

Your valued contribution extends the reach of the DHG Friends into our community, supports the vibrant Canberra arts scene and our artists of the future. We will invite Florence and Holly to speak about their creative practice at a Friends night in 2026, and hope you can join us.
