Internationally acclaimed Australian trombonist, contemporary musician, improviser and educator, Simone de Haan presents an engaging program of all Australian music especially written for him, from works for trombone and electronic tape by Keith Humble, Warren Burt and Robert Douglas, to new commissions for solo trombone by Phil Treloar and Daryl Pratt, interspersed with his own spontaneous improvisations.

He is a foundation Artistic Director of several music festivals, including the Queensland Music Festival, International New Music Tasmania Festival, and Jammin…making music together, a major collaborative event on South Bank in Brisbane. He has also held significant music leadership roles as Professor and Director of the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music UTAS, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and ANU School of Music.
