In September of last year, Roy Jackson’s retrospective at the Drill Hall Gallery at the ANU in Canberra drew an unequivocally positive reception.
The beautiful exhibition, co-curated by Terence Maloon and Sioux Garside was a fitting celebration of Roy’s life and work.
Next year, a second, travelling, exhibition is being planned to bring Roy’s work around Australia. Starting its journey at S.H. Ervin Gallery in March 2015, the show is scheduled to tour Tamworth, Wollongong and Maitland, with further venues to be confirmed.
This exhibition is curated by Sioux Garside working in conjunction with the help and support of Maggie Bassendine, Director of the Roy Jackson Estate. A book on Roy is being published to coincide with this event.
The show will be an extraordinary opportunity to see many works drawn from private collections from around the world and public institutions. We are delighted that Roy Jackson’s legacy is continuing to engender such warmth and appreciation as it engages new audiences.
